Phoenix Serial Shooter Caught. Maybe...

Last night police descended upon the Windscape Apartments in Mesa, AZ and arrested two men in connection with the person or persons they are looking for, known to Valley residents as the Serial Shooter. The Serial Shooter is believed to be responsible for killing 8 people and wounding 18 people since May 2005. The police took weapons from the apartment and confiscated a vehicle. The apartment complex, located at Mesa Drive and McKellips Road, is under lockdown at this time while police question neighbors and look for more physical evidence.

The crime sprees of the Serial Shooter and the Baseline Killer (previously referred to as the Baseline Rapist) have had the entire metro area on edge, and Silent Witness is offering a $100,000 award each for information leading to their arrests. The reward was increased just this week, thanks to a donation by KTAR radio.

The composite drawing of the Baseline Killer hasn't been changed, but there is a new description offered of the man they believe to be committing these terrible crimes. He is a "dark-skinned person of color," 25 to 30 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 170 pounds with a thin to medium build. He also wears various hats and a long-sleeved shirt and may now have short hair.

Let's hope that at least one of these serial crime sprees has now been stopped.
