It's THE BOMB

Walk into the bathroom and someone has dropped "THE BOMB". Normally I'd just run out of the bathroom immediately, but I really had to go. So I Hold my breath dash to the closest urinal, do my business and wash my hands all in about 5 seconds flat.

Just as I'm ready to break for the door, someone walks in. We make eye contact and I give a polite nod, my eyes saying dude it wasn't me. He nods back, his eyes saying yeah right stank-o-saurus why don't you try and cut back on the Mexican Food.

This same scenario has happened before, but I never know the proper etiquette to follow. Do I simply say aloud, "know what you're thinking and it wasn't me". After all I could be speaking to the perpetrator himself, who has returned to the scene looking to finish what he's started. Wouldn't he be offended?

What if Zelda Samus and Princess Peach started listening to punk music and hanging with a rough crowd, how would it affect their appearance and personalities? Assim Heetun decided to explore this question through the clever use of his artistic talents.

Playing for change

It's not often that something really and truly moves me. But I suspect it is no coincidence that the latest puppeteer to stretch and contort my heart strings is this music video, created by the Playing for change organization and Concord Music Group. It is a beautiful work of art that blends wonderful cinematography with music, sung by a troupe of street performers from all over the world. Blending style and culture to create a wonderful music video unlike anything I have ever seen.

More info. on Playing for change by following any of the links below:

Donnie Darko II

Donnie Darko was a fantastic movie and one of my favorites, the dark eerie story, fantastic cast and it's storyline which is both entertaining and suspenseful left me completely satisfied with it's finale. It seems that Nathan Atkins the new film's writer felt there was still more to say in this twisted tale. "S. Darko: A Donnie Darko Tale" is a direct to video sequel to Donnie Darko coming later this year.

The film takes place in 1995, seven years after the events of the first film and stars Daveigh Chase as Samantha Darko, Donnie Darko's younger sister. There is a trailer online and so far S.Darko looks even more bizarre than the first film, but not in a good way "sigh".

So Happy

Last night when I arrived home from work, I was really sick. I'm not sure what I came down with but my head was splitting, my eyes on fire and my stomach was doing the rumba. I stood in the bathroom for a while waiting so see if my lunch was going to pop up to say hello but fortunately it didn't.

So instead I hopped into bed, pulled tho covers over myself and took a little nap. I awoke feeling a little better and walked downstairs, this is where I saw the subject of my blog post. Maria, my wife was laying on the couch playing Prince of Persia, with my little girls sitting on either side watching quietly.

It's really hard to explain why, but seeing this made me incredibly happy. I truly love the fact that my wife has become a gamer and that we can now share in the enjoyment of my longtime hobby. Today I'm feeling 100% better and I think it may be thanks to my Maria, for taking care of me and for filling my heart with such joy when I was ill.
